In its fourth year, the CISO of the Year Award has been established to publicly recognize top senior information security leaders who hold an increasingly important role in the corporate and social leadership environments for the companies they represent.  The award is given to the Chief Information Security Officer demonstrating leadership, innovation, and accomplishment based on the judgment of their peers.  Last year’s winner was Kevin Novak, the CISO and Technology Risk Officer for Northern Trust.

“The role of the CISO is becoming increasingly critical,” said Jeffrey Hartman, a Partner and Co-Founder of 4Discovery, “and we wanted to send a strong message to the CISO community that 4Discovery is completely invested in the advancement of the industry.  We are thrilled to be participating in this year’s program, particularly since so many of our clients and partners are involved as well.”  4Discovery is a leading provider of incident response forensics to CISOs and the legal community.

“The CISO of the Year Program is not possible but for our sponsors,” said Tina Hauri, the AITP Co-Chair, “and we are delighted to have 4Discovery joining our elite group of sponsors this year.  The Chicago business community continues to benefit from a world-class pool of Information Security Executives, and it is our sincere belief that the CISO of The Year Award does much to contribute to this environment.”

CISO candidates are nominated by their peers and are vetted by a rigorous review process.  The winner will be recognized this fall at an award ceremony at the Metropolitan Club of Chicago.
