Brokerage Firm/Client Lists – Twelve disgruntled financial planners employed by a large Midwestern money management firm abruptly resigned and gained employment with the firm’s leading rival. The firm filed suit against the traders and the new firm. Our computer forensics consultants were retained by the plaintiff firm to examine the computers used by the traders and to document the movement of trade secrets in the days and hours before their mass resignation. Our digital investigation uncovered inappropriate access to and downloading of confidential client data from proprietary databases in the moments before the exodus.
